It’s about a young man named Hafid in ancient times, which he learns from a very wealthy and successful man his secrets to success so the successful man shares his story of how he learned the secrets of success, when he was young himself, he was given 10 scrolls by a rich man, with a mandate to guard them with his life and pass them on before he died. Each Scroll contains a Principle enabling you to replace a bad habit with a good habit. According to the Author you have to read each scroll three times a day for thirty consecutive days.

Here is what I have learned from Reading this Book “The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino”

Scroll I:
Form good habits and become their slave. Habits are the difference between success and failure and in order to achieve success, you have to form good habits.

Scroll II:
Love is the greatest secret of success, Love can be developed by always looking for the best in people but in order to love others, we must love ourselves first, treat ourselves with respect, and not be satisfied with anything but our finest efforts.

Scroll III:
We should not give up until we succeed. We are born to succeed, not to fail. Defeat will not be considered and words such as quit, cannot, unable, and impossible are not part of our vocabulary. Every Failure moves us closer to success.

Scroll IV:
Everyone is different in appearance and ability and we should capitalize on rather than despise these differences. We must concentrate on the task at hand and have a work-life balance. We should constantly improve ourselves and work to become better than we are now.

Scroll V:
Live each day as if it were your last, the duties of today should be done today. We should make every hour and minute count and trade it for something of value.

Scroll VI:
We are Masters of our own Emotions, each of us has the power to control our moods to create our own weather. If we bring joy and enthusiasm and brightness to all that we do, others will react in a similar manner. Strong is he who forces his actions to control his emotions.
We master our moods through positive action and when we master our moods we will control our destiny.

Scroll VII:
Cultivate the habit of laughter, Laughter puts events successes as well as failures into perspective. Whenever things seem too serious or dismal, repeat the word, “This too shall pass,” and all the troublesome thoughts will seem lighter.

Scroll VIII:
Seek out opportunities and experiences that will multiply in value, in order to “multiply in value,” we must set goals for the day, week, month, year, and our life. We must not worry if we experience initial failure in reaching our goals; we compete only with ourselves. Upon reaching our goal, we multiply again by setting another and constantly make the next hour better than the present one.

Scroll IX:
Our dreams and plans are worthless and have no value unless they are followed by action so we act now. We must act now, Procrastination comes from fear, and we overcome fear only through action. It’s better to act now and risk failure than to hold action and certainly fail.
Only, action gives life significance, if success is offered now, we must act now.

Scroll X:
Almost everyone in a moment of terror will turn to god for help. But a true believer will pray for guidance, not only for help. He calls on God not for material things, but for the knowledge to understand the way to acquire what is needed. We must realize that sometimes we will not be given the sort of guidance we asked for, this too is an answer to our prayers. We pray for ability equal to the opportunity, for good habits, love, to use words well, to humbly forge through all obstacles, to reach worthwhile goals.

Conclusion:
It’s a good Book but it’s not for everybody. In fact, it was hard to understand it for the first time, so I had to read it twice to actually understand it so far, this book is one of those books that inspire and offer practical tips for you. It’s a tiny book with very powerful and helpful principles, if about how to empower yourself to be successful.
So I am recommending this book to Entrepreneurs and individuals who want to motivate themselves to be successful.
